SPIRITUAL LEVELS
is not just an idea; we can see it in the lives of figures like Prophet 2PAC,
Deacon DMX,
and Pastor K-ICE.
The 3 STAGES of LIFE:
Becoming a LOVE WARRIOR
Matthew 4:19 –
“And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.”
In this single verse, Jesus lays out a roadmap for spiritual growth, revealing three distinct stages of a believer's journey.
These stages align with what I call
“The 3 STAGES of LIFE.”
Each step prepares you for the next, shaping you into a LOVE WARRIOR—someone who embodies Christ’s love and leads others to it.
Let’s break it down.
Living the 3 Callings:
Prophet 2PAC,
Deacon DMX,
and Pastor K-ICE!
Life is a spiritual journey, a process of growing and finding purpose.
This journey follows what I call "The 3 STAGES of LIFE," where each stage prepares us for the next and helps us live out God's love and purpose.
It's not just an idea; we can see it in the lives of figures like Prophet 2PAC, Deacon DMX, and Pastor K-ICE.
Each of them represents a stage of spiritual growth, showing us how faith, transformation, and purpose can inspire our own lives.
Stage 1: Prophet 2PAC – The BELIEVER Stage
In the first stage, Jesus calls us to follow Him. This is the Believer stage, where the focus is on building a personal relationship with God. It’s about recognizing truth, acknowledging the need for change, and allowing faith to guide your steps. Prophet 2PAC embodied this stage, expressing a profound hunger for truth, justice, and spirituality.
2PAC’s music often reflected the internal struggle of a man seeking meaning in a broken world. Songs like “Keep Ya Head Up” and “Ghetto Gospel” carried messages of hope, love, and resilience. His raw vulnerability and prophetic insights spoke to a generation, urging them to wake up to the realities of their lives and seek higher truths.
While he struggled with the complexities of life, 2PAC’s heart was tuned toward faith and change. His life represented the believer’s journey—acknowledging the call to FOLLOW, but still wrestling with the weight of the world.
The Call to Relationship
Jesus’ first words are simple yet profound: “Follow me.”
This is the foundational calling that marks the beginning of your spiritual journey. It’s about developing a personal relationship with Jesus, learning to trust Him, and understanding His love.
This stage is often experienced around the age of 30, symbolizing a time of awakening and commitment. Like the disciples who dropped everything to follow Jesus, we’re called to surrender our old ways and start walking by faith.
Key Characteristics of the BELIEVER Stage:
- A hunger to know God personally.
- Learning to walk in faith and obedience.
- Experiencing the transformational power of God’s love.
At this stage, your focus is inward—building a solid foundation in Christ and allowing Him to work on your heart.
Stage 2: Deacon DMX – The DISCIPLE/SOLDIER Stage
The second stage is about being made into a DISCIPLE—a SOLDIER for God. This is the refining process where God molds us, prepares us, and equips us to live with purpose.
Deacon DMX embodied this stage through his transparency, his struggles, and his relentless pursuit of God amidst adversity.
DMX’s life was marked by spiritual warfare. He openly battled his demons, but his faith was unshakable. In songs like “Lord Give Me a Sign” and “Damien,” he wrestled with temptation, sin, and redemption, revealing the raw process of being shaped by God. His prayers, often embedded in his music, became a powerful testament to his reliance on God’s grace.
DMX was a soldier for the Kingdom, using his platform to speak truth and bring others closer to God. His vulnerability and strength in the face of struggle made him a relatable figure for those in their own battles. He showed us that being a disciple isn’t about perfection—it’s about perseverance.
The Call to Preparation
Jesus doesn’t just call us to follow; He also promises, “I will make you.”
This stage is the process of transformation. It’s where you go from being just a believer to a disciple—a soldier in God’s army.
This stage typically happens around the age of 40, a time of maturity and readiness to be molded. Here, God is shaping you through trials, teachings, and experiences, preparing you for greater service.
Key Characteristics of the DISCIPLE Stage:
- A willingness to be refined and disciplined.
- Gaining spiritual tools and knowledge to serve others.
- Developing resilience and strength in faith.
In this stage, the focus shifts outward. You begin to see yourself as part of a bigger mission, training to carry out God’s purpose in the world.
Stage 3: Pastor K-ICE – The LOVE WARRIOR Stage
The final stage is the LOVE WARRIOR, where you step into your mission and begin leading others. This is where everything comes full circle—you don’t just live for yourself anymore; you live to make disciples.
Pastor K-ICE represents this stage, living boldly as a Love Warrior, leading people to Christ through ministry, music, and personal development.
Pastor K-ICE has embraced the call to be a fisher of men, creating a platform that bridges spirituality, culture, and healing.
Through projects like The New Energy Spiritual Center, the 3rd Light Warrior Mission Ministry, his books, blogs and music, he’s actively guiding others on their spiritual journeys.
Pastor K-ICE’s mission is outward-focused. He’s living proof that God can use all experiences—both struggles and victories—to empower others. His leadership is rooted in love, showing that true SPIRITUAL MATURITY is about service and impact.
The Call to Mission
The final calling is where everything comes together: “Fishers of men.”
In this stage, you are fully equipped to make disciples of others. You become a LOVE WARRIOR, reflecting Christ’s heart and guiding others to His light.
This stage often unfolds around the age of 50, symbolizing wisdom and readiness to lead. By now, you’ve endured the process of preparation and are stepping into your ultimate purpose—helping others discover the love of Christ.
Key Characteristics of the WARRIOR Stage:
- Actively spreading the Gospel and making disciples.
- Walking in boldness, love, and spiritual authority.
- Inspiring and equipping others to fulfill their calling.
As a LOVE WARRIOR, you are no longer just following Jesus; you’re leading others to follow Him too!
The Connection Between the Three Stages
Each of these figures embodies a stage in the journey of faith:
- Prophet 2PAC represents the hunger for truth and the early steps of following God.
- Deacon DMX symbolizes the struggle and growth of being refined as a disciple.
- Pastor K-ICE exemplifies the mission of leading others and living boldly as a warrior for love.
Their lives remind us that no matter where we are in our SPIRITUAL JOURNEY, each stage has a purpose.
From the vulnerability of the Believer stage to the refinement of the Disciple stage and the leadership of the Warrior stage, God is always preparing us for something greater.
Are You Ready to
Embrace Your Stage?
Whether you find yourself seeking, struggling, or leading, know that your journey has value.
Prophet 2PAC, Deacon DMX, and Pastor K-ICE each show us that it’s not about perfection—it’s about progression.
God is calling you to embrace your stage and live with purpose.
Will you answer the call?
